How do you remove laundry stains which appear after washing and drying?

I have some shirts which didn't have any stains on them before being washed, but when I removed them from the machine I noticed they now appear to have what looks like grease stains on them. What causes this? Is it the laundry detergent or something else? How do I remove the stains? Is there some sort of special technique or stain remover that will remove these stains? I tried rewashing but the stains are still there. Thanks

  • I have had that problem. The washer repair man told me it was from the machine. He fixed a couple of things on it and I haven't had the stains since. I don't remember what it was though and it was still under warranty. Mine came out after soaking in Spray and Wash(I think they changed the name now to Resolve or something like that) and then washing. But I had to do that two or three times. Here are some links to other people asking about the same thing on other websites with possible reasons for it and remedies:

Good Luck!  I hope this helps.

  • I use shout. It works best if you wet the stain first & let sit for a day. Then wash in hot water. If that doesn't do it, then I use Dawn dish soap & hand wash it.
