Do you think that the Christian god is playing a cruel joke?

I ask this because he made humans, so he created their "human" nature, right. Yet these are considered sins. Eve could not have brought sin if god didnt make her that way.If gosd is all knowing and all powerful why did he create angels that could go bad and humans that sin as their nature? Maybe he is sitting up there enjoying it.

  • this is an interesting perspective..
however, God also forgives. So as long as you realize you have sinned, and ask for forgiveness, you are forgiven. People have free will, because the world would be boring if we were all perfect all the time. There wouldnt be other religions, because God would all want us to follow him. know what i mean?

I will never understand the "free will" thing as far as that goes...

If he created it all then he created it ALL - including sin- satan- temptation...   WHY?   as a lab experiment I suppose...

  • I guess bc he had in his mind that the world was going to be perfect and made each and one of us with our own mind and actions and he went from there so it is the choices we make in life that he is looking hopefully we all make the right choices if we seem to go a stray he'll pick us back up and do the best we can but it is up to us.

  • This is my understanding: He gave Adam and Eve paradise, eternal life, peace, perfection, reproduction, a personal relationship with him, and all the things a loving parent would provide for his/her children. Free will is also a gift. We are not robots. Robots have no emotions, feel love, or affection. Eve made the grave mistake. He has a plan, a kingdom that will soon come and take care of everything.

  • First of all, you are correct that God created us. However, He created us to be free beings, able to make our own choices. What we choose to do with our options, that it totally on us. He did not create us to fail, He created us to fellowship with him. Humans (Adam and Eve) made the choice to sin create the havoc in the world.

To the person who doesn't understand free will, imagine a world where your child walks around like a robot. You tell them to do something, they do it. You say give me a hug, and they do it because you want them to, not because they want to. That is what the world would be like without free will. We would all walk, talk, eat and do the same thing as everyone else. Instead, we are free to have our own thoughts, decide what actions we want to take. We all have the ability to think for ourselves, that is what makes us all unique. Take free will away and you have robots.

  • I ubderstand what you are saying that we have free will, but did not god create our emotions and our desires. For instance, lust is a sin but is our human nature. Isnt it his fault we feel it in the first place.

  • I find creating folks with power to make their own choices (for good or bad) much kinder than the alternative of creating mindless subservient robots.

  • But God didn't create us this way. Adam and Eve, were created perfect. Without sin. God gave Adam and Eve the ability to choose between right and wrong, between obedience and disobedience, to make moral decisions. They chose a life of independence from our Creator. They CHOSE sin.

James 1:14, 15 explains: “Each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin.” In the case of Eve, the wrong desires began to develop when she became intrigued by Satan. Adam inturn listened to his wife instead of trusting our Creator. Instead of rejecting wrong thoughts, both nutured selfish desires. Acts of sin were the result. - Gen. 3:1-6.

Yet, God lovingly provided a way out for A & E's children (us) through the ransom sacrifice of his own son, Jesus
