My 3 week old son looks like his belly button is infected...

His cord stump fell of 2 days ago. I noticed today that the lower edge around the outside of his belly button is red and swollen. There is also still a small scab inside his belly button. Is it infected? Should I put alcohol or neosporin on it? Do I need to call the doc?

  • you should call the doc my son had problems with his and drainage and swelling. he has a small stump that would never heal but the doc had to put nitro stuff some kind of black stuff on it a few times before it stopped. he still has a little piece in his belly button but it is fine now and does not drain or swell so definately call your doc
