  • Religion is fellowship with other people of your faith it encourages your faith. Spirituality is more interpersonal, its the work you do on your own. I think both are important.

  • what 2autisticsmom said. Religion was invented to control the masses. Spirituality is the one on one relationship you have w/ whatever it is you believe in.

  • no.. religion is a foundation of beliefs followed by a group of people with guidelines and rules.
Spirituality is the center of oneself and the energies around them. If you are a spiritual Christian for example, your spirituality is about you focusing yourself to find a better connection with Christ. If you are a spiritual atheist, your spirituality, is centered around natural energies around you, grounding yourself, and reconnecting.

  • no - far from it! Religion is organised and limited. Spirituality is something between you and your higher/greater powers - whatever they are. It can't be confined by the walls of religion!

  • nope

I know many "religious" people who are lacking spiritually...and many "spiritual" people who have not any religion.

  • I do not believe they are the same. IMO, religion is something we can use to cultivate our spirituality, but it is not to be understood as spirituality itself.
