I've always been induced and had my water broken before. Does my water have to break first before I start having contractions?

  • no mine didn't with my labor with my first baby. I lost my plug Friday morning, Friday night contractions started and after midnight Tuesday morning my baby was born. My ob broke my water that Monday, my son born early early morning Tuesday late Monday night.

  • NO. Infact most women begin contracting first and some babies are even born without the water ever breaking!

  • with dd they brke my water
    ds my water broke and i hasd no contactios for7 hrs until i got pitocin

  • only 8% of labors start with the breaking of the water so more likely than not, contractions will start first

  • My water never broke on it's own, they broke it as baby was coming out.
