well water making my 2 month old constipated?

has anyone switched their constipated babies off of well water and noticed a difference in their stool?

  • Have you had your well tested? Many counties have an extension service or water management commission that will test your water for free. If you have a high iron content, that *could* cause constipation. Great filters are available.

  • It's more likely to be the formula than the water. Have you had it tested to make sure it's no loaded with stuff that can be harmful to your baby? If not, I'd switch to bottled water til baby's a year old (the gallons of drinking water).

  • Formula is the main reason for constipation and stomach problems. Babies are made to digest breastmilk and even though formula can be used as a substitute it is very harsh on their digestive tract leading to a multitude of stomach problems and discomfort for baby.  Have you considered breastfeeding or donor milk?

  • wow dont give your baby well water for one thats gross use bottled water and formula MAY cause constipation but it's completely safe bfing advocates are seriously annoying on this site anyways depends what formula your using soy can bind them up a little ask your doctor about it they may suggest you get 2oz of water with or without juice to help thats what my doctor did
