How do you explain to a guy that you can be pregnant and have your period?

I haven't had sex since December and had a period in February. I mentioned being late to the guy and he said it wouldn't be his.

  • You CANT have a period and be pregnant. You can have bleeding or spotting during a pregnancy that can be mistaken for a pregnancy. Do you have a confirmed pregnancy? If so, you can show him an article about spotting in early pregnancy. If that is not good enough, he has to either trust you or get a paternity test when the child is born.

  • That's a hard one to explain. Did you have a regular, normal period in January? If you did, the odds are that you are not pregnant. Its pretty rare for a woman to be pregnant if she had a normal period...i.e. it was on-time, lasted the usual number of days, and was as heavy or as light as it normally is. Guys would have a hard time understanding all that. You probably should have waited until you missed a period before you said anything about being pregnant. I don't see the sense in getting him or youself all worked up about something that might not even be going on.

  • I meant "mistaken for a period" not "mistaken for a pregnancy."

  • You can bleed while pregnant but its not a real period. If you had a real period all of the lining of your uterus would shed & the baby would have nothing...and it would come out as well.

  • You cannot have a period when pregnant. You can have vaginal bleeding, but it's not the same thing. There's spotting, break through bleeding, bleeding because of the increased blood in the area, etc.

Are you sure you are pregnant? Taken a test yet? If so, when the do the first ultrasound they will estimate the time you've been prengant and you can use that to prove when you got pregnant.

  • yeah, well, to tell you the truth. you really can't be pregnant and have a period. You can have a little bit of spotting going on there. but no real period, Did you take a pregnancy test? Did your doctor confirm it. woith you? You should wait to find out if you are actually pregnant before you mention anything to you friend. If you are pregnant and he is the father then maybe he should get a paternity test. done, for him to see the proof.

  • You can't. Men don't understand it. Wait 9 months and take him on Maury, if necessary.
