lying down postition and burping

it is always recommended to burp a baby after a feed but if you lying down and feeding cause ur tired and you fall of to sleep then what. can the baby throw up and choke on the milk?

  • Usually a spit up ejects out and makes a mess, Sometimes ther is some sputtering, but if you are there it is fine as you will wake up. Burp if you can, if you fall asleep it is ok too. I nurse lying down too, and don't always burp her.

  • Well I am guessing this is when you are BFing....if you are then it is normal for them to be on their side. If they are then of they burp up something it should judt dribble out.
