my ten month old daughter will no longer sleep through the night...

she used to be an amazing sleeper now she wakes up atleast 3 times a night and seems to want to eat each time. I give her a filling meal and bottle before bed but she is still waking up. Someone please help me...my son was always a bad sleeper and still is so I want her to have better sleeping habits...Any and all advice please.

  • she is not a bad sleeper. Its a growth spurt so she is legitimately hungry. nightwaking is normal, even adultsake at least once a night though the may not remember doing so. It is unusual for most childrn to sleep without waking until age three or four and even then once a night is normal. in fact,consider 5 hours a sleep through.

  • Just something to support what I said about babies sleeping differently and that long stretches sleeps are extremely unusual.

  • my daughter did that. she slept through the night EVERY night from 4-8 months, then started getting up again bc she wanted to eat. but she refused to eat baby food.o once i got her started on that she did better, but never as well as she had.

  • She's normal. What you're calling a "bad" habit is actually a good one, survival related.

    Be aware that too much food at night can make them wake more as their blood sugar levels fluctuate...so DON'T stuff her before bed. **grin**
