my 8 month old wont let me feed him!

i feed him and he grabs the spoon or fork, so i give him his own and anything i put in his mouth he spits ou and reputs in his mouth. should i just let him feed himself? hes been picking up his own food for a while? help

  • It doesn't matter how much solids he eats. His main source of nutrition before age one is breastmilk or formula. Solids are just for "fun". He should be getting his nursing or formula bottle BEFORE a solids feeding. EVERY TIME, before 12 mos.

  • Put away the spoon and just let him feed himself. He won't let himself starve!

  • He is ready to feed himself Start with fruit, or those gerber treats. Mine started doing it at about that age. She is 11 mos. now and can eat pretty much anything!
