How do you prevent cold sores?

It seems like I get one every other week. I'm tired of replacing my toothbrushes!

  • A lady I worked with used to get medicine, a perscription, for preventing cold sores because she repeatedly had them.

  • Try to avoid stress, I find that I break out with one when I'm stressed. Also I've found Abreva really does help shorten the duration and keeps it from getting too big if I start using it as soon as I get the itchy tingly feeling. And of course good general health - eating properly, exercising, etc. helps.
