St. Valentine's day: real holiday or "Hallmark" holiday?

  • no matter what origins there are, currently it has been turned in to a commercialized hallmak holiday

  • The origins may have been well intentioned (I didn't check your link), but today it's nothing more than a consumer oriented contest to see who has the better SO in terms of what they got/did for V Day. Personally, I prefer a kiss, flowers, or a card on an ordinary day just b/c he's thinking of me than to get the red carpet on 2/14.

  • St. Valentine's Day was meant for children but adults never grew up and still wanted to be part of game same with Halloween Day. It's for kids.
