Hamburger question (hard things in it)

Has anyone else ever bitten into something hard when eating a hamburger? I always seem to, and it really bothers me not knowing what it is. Do you know what it is?

  • It's gristle, and sometimes bone.

  • I always wondered that too. I don't eat ground beef anymore. Bison and turkey is what I use :)

  • The fact that it's gristle and bone kind of grosses me out, so I might start the whole turkey thing too hahaha.. but at least I know I'm not crazy, my DH always argued about it and said there wasn't anything hard in hamburger :P

  • Pieces of gristle and maybe bone. It is enough to turn my stomach and take my appetite. I don't eat much beef anymore. It tends to gross me out even without that stuff. I'm a big fan of poultry.

  • Try the bison, it's the leanest meat you can get and the flavor is great.

  • Those little hard things and the chewy pieces are precisely why I don't eat hardly any ground meat, lol.
