  • The term "tree hugger" has been around for quite a while. It's kind of an insult towards overly conscious environmentalist--you know the one's who care more about trees and critters than live among them more than humans!

  • Crazy enviromentalist. They got that name when a group in Cali got together while trying to stop the cutting of trees. They held hands and wrapped themselves around the trees. It's pretty much is used for any Enviromental wacko now days

  • I'm all for protecting our natural woodlands and wildlife, but I'm not an extremist. I wouldn't mind being called a 'tree hugger' if that meant I cared so much about keeping the natural state of things just the way they are and stop tearing it all up just to build commercial properties and kit homes.
