Abortion should be a choice, but not elective c section?

I was thinking about this after reading the question about unnecessary c sections.

So many people say that abortion should be a woman's choice bc she should have the right to do what she likes with her body. If that's your stance, shouldn't elective c sections be a choice as well? After all, it's the woman's body, right?

For the record, I'm not reflecting my own opinions in this question.

  • Women are having elective c-sections. Some doctors won't do them but its common practice and we pay for them.

  • You sort of did reflect your own opinion.

  • yeah they probably should both be the womans choice. the only difference is that abortions are quick, easy, painless, and come with alot less risks - c-section can be very dangerous and are a major surgery so its alittle different.

  • Your body, your choice - all the way around.

  • You CAN have an elective c-section. You just have to find a doctor who will do it, not all doctors perform abortions either.

  • For the record, it is a womans choice. Not to say all doctors are honest, but in more circumstances than not they are performed for the baby and the woman's safety.
PS...IMO Abortion should not be a choice. Someone that doesn't want a baby already made the choice of having sex and getting pregnant. Where's the baby's choice in all of that?

  • why dont we all discuss wether someone has a right to dental work? how about an apendix out? maybe cancer treatment?
