what are some home remedies for bronchiolitis?

my 1 yr old has this right now and also has an ear infection. the dr gave her medicine for her ear but not for the bronchiolitis. What are some things i can do to relieve this?

shes been congested, has a deep cough, runny nose sore throat etc.

  • Take her in the shower with you as warm as you think she will be ok with. The warmth and moist air will help.

  • vicks vapor rub on her lower chest not to close cause she is still young. A humidifier mist 24 hrs in the same room as she is in. Lots of clear liquids like soups, broths, warm juices.

  • Push fluids to keep secretions thin, incline her crib matress with a pillow under the matress, humidifier in her room when she sleeps, Tylenol or Motrin for comfort.

  • Generally the antibiotic for her ears will help the bronchitis too. Agree with the other posts...use a humidifier, sit in a steamy bathroom for 20 minutes. I have heard baby vicks on the feet then covered with socks...
