How do you "see" the heartbeat in an early ultrasound?

I'm going to go for an ultrasound next week, ill be 7 weeks along and the doctor said ill hopefully "see" the heartbeat, what exactly will I see? Wont it be too small to see?

  • you'll see a little gray blob and within that blob, you will see a flickering. that is your baby's heartbeat! GL, mama!

  • You'll see it beating away. They will point it out to you on the screen. The heart is a muscle that shows up quite well on an ultra sound.
