At 5 weeks pregnant with twins would you see 2 sacks, or just 1 in an ultrasound?

Do twins both grow in the same pregnancy sack, or are there 2 sacks?

  • Identical twins sometimes share a sac. Fraternal twins would have separate sacs, though they do sometimes fuse together an look like one. I had my first ultrasound with my twins at 5.5 weeks, and you could clearly see two sacs. At 7 weeks you could clearly see two fetal poles with beating hearts.
