  • Yes. When you start solids at six months babies can eat regular food that's mashed. They don't need cereal or jar food. Gone are the rules about starting one new food each week. You want to try to start a wide variety of foods before age one.

  • Sure you can... add a little breastmilk or formula if necessary for a smoother consistency... but my little girls didn't like mashed white potatoes. They did like it when I pureed my own sweet potatoes, though.

  • Mashed potatoes as adults eat them are a little thick, but add a little breastmilk or formula or water if you have to and go for it.

  • My daughter turned 7 months yesterday. She had green beans, small pieces of KFC chicken, and mashed potatoes for dinner tonight. She loves to eat!
