Middle class tax hikes?

Barack Obama the candidate repeatedly vowed no tax increases for those making under $250,000. As president, he has changed his tune. But cheer up: He now tells us he's a "fierce" free marketer.
So instead of cutting taxes, opening markets through free trade and scrapping the failed 2009 stimulus package before the last $500 million gets squandered, he'll probably end up squeezing the middle class in exactly the way he said he wouldn't.

  • You couldn't tell that he speaks out of both sides of his mouth from his campaign speeches??? This is no less than I expect from him. Taxes on the middle class? Flippity-flop. Transparency? Flippity-flop. Post-partisan? Flippity-flop. Anyone see a pattern forming here?

  • Now ladies, it is absolutely okay for him to do this...........ALL politicians do...........................

This may sound crazy, but I heard something about the possiblity of taxing kids. Changing the requirements for those with part time jobs..even to including the babysitting $$ your 12 makes when she babysits the neighbors kid for an hour. I have NOTHING to back this up. It was something they were talking about on the radio so it may simply be a wild rumor.

I guess the good news is that it will be a non-issue for the unemployed......because their small business employers have already been taxed out of business.......

  • i wish they'd end income taxes since they can't be fair about it. Just do sales tax and make it higher so that everyone who spends money will pay. There is a lot of illegal under the table money that goes uncounted. These people still buy stuff though.

No, it doesn't surprise me. However, those who ARE surprised won't admit it, and will defend it.
