Are daycares like schools? I just sign something saying he's not vaccinated?

I had no choice but to put him in daycare or drop out of school. She said she needs a copy of his shot record and he has to have the chicken pox vaccine. He's had some, but I'm not sure which ones. How old are you when you get the chicken pox vaccine? He's two. He had the MMR over the summer.

  • oooh you're going to have to get your child up to date......99% of places will not accept a child without all their current shots.....it is very very rare to find those that will, if at all.

  • if you call your pediatrician's office, they should be able to fax you a copy of your son's vax record (or hand one to you in person). mine had his chicken pox around 18 months, i think.

  • I agree with PP. Daycare in my local area will not accept a child that isn't fully up to date on their vaccinations.

  • Most daycares are private. They don't have to accept you if they don't want to. You may need to get a private sitter.

  • 90% of daycares are private therefore most require all vaccines to be up to date.

  • She never said up-to-date. Just that he had to have the chicken pox vaccine. You can't get the vaccine if he's had it already, right?

  • Hey, if he's had the chicken pox, he doesn't need the vaccine. Talk to your ped.
