  • around 6 months, give or take a month. Their systems are too immature to handle those type of solids b4 then.

  • They only need breastmilk (or formula) for the first 6 months. It is best to wait to introduce any solids until then. You don't ever need to use the "stage one" foods. They are just tiny jars of single foods. You can use the bigger stage 2 jars, or skip jars altogether!

  • You don't have to do that overpriced jar food at all. You are paying for half water and for the jar! If you wait until around six months when the baby can sit up unassisted, has lost the tongue thrust reflex, and has interest in food. You can skip that stuff, save money and time, and just give him real table food. Of course, always breastmilk or formula first and solids second. Food before one is just for fun; not nutrition.

  • I'd wait until at least 6 mos. And as PP said, you don't NEED to use jar food.

  • I agree with Amile though puree the food first. . Do not waste your money on horrible jar food. Here is a great site to use to make your own baby food with your blender or food processor.
