can fire alarm hurt babies ears?

i stayed in a hotel and someone pulled the fire alarm...i was just wondering if it could've hurt my 6 weeks old son's ears?? he didn't cry or even wake up when it went off.

  • Technically all noise we are exposed to hurts our ears over time. With that said he is fine. He may not have responded because newborns don't notice stuff like that when they are sleeping it seems. They actually like loud noises.

    If he appears to not be noticing noise in the future I would get a hearing test done. He might have had one done at birth too.

  • if he didnt even wake up you should be getting a hearing test done it should of atleast startled him but if it hurts your ears it probably will hurt his too

  • yes, but not permanently or anything. and to the anon that said go get a hearing test.... i have set off our house alarm a couple of times when my kids were asleep and they didn't wake up.... it doesn't mean they are deaf, just that they were sleeping deep
