When do babies start saying actual words, besides just babbling?

  • My DD said mama and nana @ 7 mths. Nana means give me some food, she still uses it today @ 14 mths. She made up that word on her own but then eventually we started using it as a nickname.anyway from there she has learne about 12 words and understands a lot more too. All depends on the baby and the interactions during the day too.

  • my daughter said momma dada and baba at 5 months but she had no idea what they meant. shes now 9 montsh old and is just now putting me and the word momma together and same with dada and shell say hi and byby and wave
