I just don't get it. And you're a vegan?

I work in an Italian restaurant and today I had someone say "this chicken parmigiana here, is that vegan?" I didn't even know what to say!

when I was a waitress some questions I got were:

"Are your omletes made with egg?" When I responded with asking if they wanted egg substitute, they said "No I just want to know if it has eggs or if it's just ham and cheese mixed together" UM...
    oh and I loved
"Is your country fried steak fried?"

  • My 'friend' is occasionally a fake vegan. My favorite was turning down a salad because there were eggs in it, but then diving into some Kraft Mac 'n Cheese complete with hotdogs. He's done worse but as this happened in within a two minute block, it's always my favorite.

  • I never got why vegans would even want a meat "substitute" (fake chicken etc) if it's so evil why do you want to pretend to eat it? (This is for the ones who do it for ethical reasons).

  • I'm laughing at the "fake" vegan friend. That's too funny!
Maybe that person was a new vegan and still learning the rules. Me, I like meat. Cook it up, bring it on, pass the A-1.

  • Haha, no. He's just like that. It's always some new cause and he never bothers to find out the details before he goes singing about it. Right now, he'd probably steal your A-1 and your burger. :)
