Can we have peace during these forty days of Lent?

I know that most of us can. This is to those who seem to relish the conflict we have here. During this time can we peacefully discuss beliefs? Learn to grow through others experience? Nuture and help? Think before we react? To those of you who will say sure I can but others can't Try to refrain from that comment all it does it adds to the fire that is here.

  • You do realize that no everybody practices Lent. (i'm afraid this request will, in fact, fall on deaf ears.) However, even if one does, its practice should be one of self-examination.

  • In the same spirit, there should be a truce during Ramadan; Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur; Ostara, Beltane, Samhain, etc; The Durga Puja... and so on.

If we were to use high holy days of world religions as grounds for kindness, we'd have calendars full of tolerance and peace.
