Can anyone recommend some type of toy storage BESIDES a toy box or the shelves with the cloth cubes

I'm looking for something that is short so my DD can get in her toys and pick them up, but I want the top to be closed so that when toys are put away you can see them. I don't want a regular toy box, though.
thanks!

  • I got a toy organizer from toys r us. they have plastic tub things that sit on the shelves. they aren't really shelves its wood rods that make it so they are propped for easy access for my daughter. i also got a smaller one with cloth bins from my cousin. i don't know where she got it. I love the organizers because I hate toy boxes as well. also, you could try shelves and getting the bins from walmart or target and use those. they wouldn't give as easy access for younger kids, but they could slide out what they needed and then slide it back in. i hope that helps.

  • Rubbermaid tubs? They make them clear, but they also make them in solid colors in a variety of sizes.

  • I bought clear plastic bins with lids and store them all on a low shelf. I wrapped different colored duct tape around the boxes and labeled them with a sharpie. You can also buy different colored bins if you don't like see-through.

  • OP here: The plastic storage is a good idea. Do you all feel that the plastic is safe and won't fall onto your little one? My DD is 18 months old.
