My daughter just turned 1. She has been saying words since around 7 or 8 months. Is it normal for her to stop saying some of the words that had been saying. For example....she used to say "all done" when finished eating and now she just stands up in her chair or points to down. She also used to say our dog's name a lot and now she doesn't say her name hardly ever but if we say the dog's name or ask where she is our daughter will point to where she is!

  • I think that is normal. Our dd did the same thing! The more you want them to say things the more they wont! We used to love how our dd said pumpkin and once she caught on she never said it again. Your LO is probably just too busy learning new words in her mind to use the old ones.
