my son is 3 he has thrown up 6 times each time 10-15 mins apart is it better he drinks water in between or now he has nothing left in his stomach do its just bile and mucas comming up

  • No water for awhile. After vomiting seems to have stopped then ice chips.

  • I agree w/ Gaill. Popsicles, anything he'll drink, knowing it may come back up. Chances are diarrhea will follow. I'm sorry. Keep him hydrated despite the vomiting.

  • NOTHING for half an hour after he vomits. After half an hour or so, try just a teaspoon of liquid - room temp & flat 7-up or cola, gatorade, water. If he keeps it down, offer another teaspoon after 15 minutes or so. As long as it stays down, offer a teaspoon every 15 minutes. If he keeps it all down for a couple of hours, offer 2 teaspoons each time. Up the amount every couple of hours as long as it stays down. If he vomits after a drink, start over with waiting a half hour or more. If he vomits repeatedly after every sip, and can't keep anything down overnight, take him in in the morning for IV fluids.
