  • At first only let him use it at bedtime and naptime. Don't let him walk around all day with it in his mouth. Then eventually take it away at naptime. If he asks for it, tell him pacifiers are for babies and he's a big boy and he doesn't need it anymore. He might decide then and there he doesn't want it anymore. Then don't let him have it at bedtime anymore. After he sleeps through the night with his pacifier, take him to the toy store to reward him for being such a big boy. Tell him he can pick out a new toy to replace his pacifier, because you gave all of his pacifiers away to the pacifier fairy.
