is it ok to start taking prenatal vitamins if dr has not prescibed them to you yet... when trying to conceive????

  • Doctors encourage it if you are trying to concieve. You can take them even if you arent:)

  • I have heard that any woman within her childbearing years should be taking prenatals as a precaution in case of a surprise pregnancy.

  • you can go to walmart and get prenatal vitamins you do not have to get them from ur doctor

  • you should be taking them up to 3 months prior to conception

  • 5 pregnancies/babies and I never had prenatals prescribed. I was told to go buy some - they are OTC unless you need special ones. Nothing wrong with taking them while TTC.
