OK, lets try this again- 3 yr old with rash, pics included here...

She's 3
Don't know if she has a temp yet, 'cause she just got of the bath.
Coughing all day
Rash has been coming on slowly all day. First 2 little bumps, now her whole bicep, and thigh.
They seem like water blisters but not like chicken pox at all.

Just want some advice on rashes.
Already checked WebMD and google images, but not helpful.
Would you take your toddler in to urgent care for a rash??

  • I'd call doc tonight for guidance -that's what they are there for -this way you can have guidance on comfort as it might spread or itch.

are you in a warmer climate for poison ivy or oak?

try a baking soda bath oh you just took her out.

give her a bit of benydryl just a bit to stop itch from starting hopefully -if it starts itching it could be tough.

but still every hour and a half to two hours if doc oks or you don't call doc give a baking soda bath -baking soda in luke warm to warm bath water and swish to dissolve.

    Hope baby is better soon!!!

  • I looked at the pics, I wouldn't worry enough to take her to Urgent care but I would call the doctor in the AM and get her in to see him asap.

  • Roseola? Sometimes called sixth disease. Sometimes has high fever or swollen lymph nodes, but not always. I had it and had a fever of 104. My son had it, had the rash but never a fever. Just a thought. Anyway, watch her temp, if it doesn't go up, wait and take her to the peds in the a.m. Go with your gut, we are not doctors. Has she been on any antibiotics lately? Sometimes they can develop allergies to them even if they have had them in the past.

  • It's not Rosy, my 6 year old had that one.... We're next to experts on that one! lol
    These are liquid filled bumps...
    No antibiotics recently.
I know you're not Dr. but moms are the next best thing! =) Just fishing for advice. TY.

  • My dd get's something similar to that every once and a while, I am always told to give benedryl, we believe its a reaction to a bug bite but have never been able to figure it out exactly. Also draw a line around the outer edge of the red, this will help you see if it is growing or shrinking. Good luck it can probably wait unitl the morning when you can get her into the doc's.
