What would be a medical term for having a period?

I mean where does it say for sure on what is the purpose of a period, yes I know to help prepare to have children but I have also read that this is it's natural way of cleansing our woman part...but I would like to know for sure in the medical section I guess.

Thanks!

  • Every month you body gets ready for a baby. You release an egg and you uterus gets ready for the "fertilized" egg to attach. The walls of the uterus fill with blood and nutrients and everything an embryo needs to start growing. Each month that an embryo doesnt attach (AKA pregnant!), your body flushes it all out, cleans everything up, and gets ready for the next one.

  • Nobody gave you an opinion. Everything that was stated is fact. Google menstrual cycle or menstruation for more info.

  • During the 5-7 days you are having your period you would say that you are menstruating.

  • If you are looking to ask God the why part, I suggest Genesis chapters 1 and 2.
