Would you call CPS over this?

Is a house having a strong cat urine smell (strong enough that when you open the door to walk in it makes you almost gag) and 2 young children living in the house enought to make you call child protective services out of concern for them? Also when they leave the house the young children (and the mother) have a horrible smell to them (like unbathed for a long period of time).

  • I would definately consider it cause for concern. Have you spoken to the mother? Have you tried to help them in anyway?

  • You could, they would check on the house and tell them to clean it and then check up periodically. Sometimes people are so lazy you need to put a fire under their ass.

  • Oh for petes sake. Have you ever considered just saying something to the parent? Why the F*** is everyone so HOT to call CPS about everything? Kids get dirty and yuckky. They could get bathed every day and still smell. Do you really think they don't know that their house stinks??? They probably know their cat (maybe elderly? disabled?) is incontinent. If you don't like it maybe you should not go over.
Even though my house is clean, I am so sick of all of you "ladies" ranting "CALL CPS" over every fricken thing. Makes me even more hesitant to trust people.

  • Look anon :57, kids who are cleaned regularly do NOT smell "unwashed". That is a distinct smell. Even with an incontinent cat..which you have no idea if that's the case...you & your children should not stink so bad people notice it.
