Fabric softener, dryer sheets, anti-static agents...

I'm using 1 or 2 dryer sheets per load and my DH's dress slacks STILL cling! I need to use something else, I guess.

What is your preferred method of preventing static-cling and why?

  • Overdrying causes static, so one thing that helps is to take things out before they are completely dry. I like fabric softener liquid, but it can make spots if it doesn't disolve well. I also use dryer sheets. I live where it is very dry, so every little bit helps.

  • I live in a very humid climate. Currently nothing I am doing is helping due to the cold and lack of humidity in the air. I would try taking them out of the dryer before they are completely dry and see if that helps.
