  • Schedule a conference with his teachers. Ask for specific times he fights as well as if there are specific schoolmates that he seems to fight most with. Are the teachers saying this is an issue? Do they have any suggestions? Make sure you and his father both attend - it is vital to to get the male perspective here! Boys are much different than girls and it's hard to get used to.

Make sure your son is on a schedule and that he knows the schedule - routine is a good, good thing. Early to bed, early to rise is also a very important component - if your child is tired or hungry, there will be problems. Our boy goes to sleep between 6:30 and 7:00 and sleeps until 6:00, with an occasional nap.

Remember, this is a marathon not a sprint. No easy answers, no easy fixes.Cut your kid a break and make sure you remember he's only four!
