3rd pregnancy...are you afraid you will have absolutley NO bladder control left?

Okay...pregnant with my 3rd here. With each pregnancy , I've lost a little more control over the bladder. I'm not even that far along this time round and already, I feel the difference coming on. I'm afraid to be far away from the bathroom and I won't drink a whole lot if I'm not sure theres going to be a bathroom close by! It's awful! During my second pregnancy , I even peed my pants a couple times before I made it to the toilet. Ugh. As if just being a woman wasn't work enough.

  • Do you do kegels? I read recently that if you do them 3 times/day, 10 reps each, holding for 30 secs each time and it's not getting better after 6-8 weeks then you should talk to your dr. There is minor surgery they can do to repair the muscles. I am pregnant with my 5th and occasionally if I sneeze really hard some will leak out, but not much and not very often. Try the kegels!

  • doing kegels correctly: "to identify the right muscles to contract, stop your urinary flow midstream. If you're still not sure you're doing them correctly, try one with a dr or nurse during a pelvic exam; he or she will insert a finger and ask you to squeeze. Yes, it's slightly embarrassing - but come on, they've seen it all. And you need results!"

    Hope it helps!
