  • I am sure there are some people I know that wont shop at thrift stores, I have never really asked lol. Most of my friends and I love thrift stores but i will admit if we find one that is going down hill and after a few visits they dont clean it up we wont shop there anymore. I love second hand but I only shop at the stores that take pride in themselves otherwards I cant enjoy it.

  • Yes. I knew this girl who thought anything second-hand was absolutely disgusting. I thought she was a little disgusting herself (personality-wise).

I, on the other hand, LOVE thrift stores. I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks of them! Savers for the win!

  • My sister didn't think she was above it so much, she just wouldn't do it. She wanted everything new and wouldn't accept any gifts that were second hand. I am sure I have known others who did actually think they were above it. I know that two of my aunts only buy new and not second hand. I doubt they would buy second hand.

  • It is sad that so many won't go second hand imagine what it would do for the environment. I think buying new baby stuff is absurd yes an outfit here and there is fine, but they don't wear their clothes long enough to wear them out. I think in this economy second hand is truly a gift.

  • I won't shop in thrift stores. My time that I would spend digging through piles of crap is worth more than the deals I may find on old throwaways. I donate all my used stuff to battered women's shelters.

  • I don't shop in thrift stores. I don't think bad of people that do, and trust me I don't come from money, but now that I have money I can't see myself shopping at them places. I like fresh new clothes. Just the way I feel.

Answer by Anonymous at 4:32 PM on Feb. 20, 2010

  • I won't. The prices at our local thrift store have gone up and I can buy name brand, sales items clothes for the same as or just a little bit more than I would pay at the thrift store. And sometimes, I just being like being able to buy whatever I want, no sales items, whenever I want.

  • No.
They are great for bargains. I just don't think I would buy underwear or nightgowns, etc. but maybe a jacket or jeans?
