i was looking for low carb recipes on the internet and...

i just dont get it. why do some of the recipes have pizza sauce in it or potatoes or something thats not low carb??

  • Exactly - you want "complex" carbs, as in whole wheat pasta & bread and vegetables. You don't want "simple" carbs, as in candy or some kinds of fruit. "Simple" carbs are basically sugar - they burn out quick in your body and cause you to crash and feel sluggish and hungry a short after you consume them. "Complex" carbs take several hours to digest through your system, keeping you full and energized for longer periods of time. Do a search for "The Glycemic Index". It will give you the list of do's and dont's when it comes to carbohydrates.

  • low carb doesn't mean NO carbs in a recipe. you also have to take into account the amount of the ingredient and how many the finished recipe serves.
