coffee cake

stupid question i am making coffee cake and it says add portions of milk and flour mixed w salt and baking powder alternately do i mix the flour and milk together and in a seperate bowl mix salt and baking soda

  • Mixing ingredients "alternately" means add a little of each, mix/stir, then add more of the ingredients, mix/stir, etc. until all of the ingredients have been combined. This is so you don't get lumps, and end up with a smooth batter. :o)

  • I use Bisquick or I found a great overnight recipe. I go easy or not at all.  But that sounds good.  Haven't made it in awhile.
