Is this legal............

I live in a "no pets" apartment. The ladies who live under me have a cat because one of them had a doctor order it. I asked the property management if I could do the same thing because I am bipolar and they told me no! Can they really do that? Why can they make an exception for one person and not another? I am wondering if they are just playing favorites because the manager lives in that apartment.

  • By law if your doctor says you need the pet they have to abide it is against the AWDA to not allow it. You can get the cat and if they try anything sue them.

  • If you have a Dr saying you have to have a pet then they can not fight you on that. But if you don't have a Dr's saying this then they can tell you no.
