Why is my washing machine leaving lint on my clothes?

It doesn't seem to make a difference whether it's a small load or a big load. It's a little better with liquid detergent, but still does it. We've cleaned the thing out. Anyone else had this problem??

  • towels are a big lint maker and should be washed in their own load.
Have you inspected the water lines or checked out the area between the washing machine tub and the outer part of the machine?? Make sure every spot that inputs into the machine is clean in addition to having cleaned the machine.
Otherwise, if it gets better with liquid detergent and worse with powder, could be you have a problem with powder detergent dissolving.

  • don't mix fabrics that produce lint (such as towels or sweaters) with the clothes that attract it.

wash towels as a separate load
wash sweaters separately or in sweater bags.
