How Often Do You...

I had a friend who used mine last week (because her washer and dryer don't work anymore) and she started wondering if my dryer always dried slow and I told her no. My dryer is like three years old. So I went in and checked the lint trap and it was like an inch thick with lint. I asked her if she had ever cleaned it out and she said "No, I clean mine out about once a month." She was doing about four loads of laundry (and she has no kids. Just her and her fiance) I was shocked! I clean mine out after every load.

So, How often do you clean out your lint trap in your dryer?

  • every load, unless a load didnt really leave any lint... then i just wait until after the next load. tell her that is probably why her dryer isnt working!

  • Every load. It is a HUGE fire hazard to not clean it out often.

  • Every Load. Does she not know that can cause your dryer to catch on fire? Plus if you dont clean it it will take longer to dry!

  • Every load. I am shocked that people don't clean it out with every load. With ours the trap is right there when you open the door, you reach down pull it off and throw it away, 25 seconds.

  • Every load, otherwise it takes two or three runs to dry things, and I really don't relish the idea that it could burst into flames if not cleaned regularly.

  • Every load and I clean out the the thing where it exhausts outside about once or twice a month.
