Can anyone give me some examples of how Christians are trying to turn the U.S. into a theocracy?

  • "one nation under god", "in god we trust", limmitting access to reproductive services, denying civil rights to gays, teaching science is now controversial......

  • oh and not allowing abortions in the new health bill bc it's not agreed with in many christian's eyes, especially the catholic

  • Trying to teach Intelligent Design, a story made up to explain the unknown, to young schoolchildren.

    Trying to ban gay marriage and abortion on Christian ideals.

  • displaying the Ten Commandments in public areas, denying evolution or teaching ID/creationism, denying rights to homosexuals, making abortion illegal, censoring ideas, ideologies, or images they don't approve of, etc.

  • Some of these things mentioned have been a part of our heritage/tradition for many many years and even some non religious people would not want them removed.As for abortions in the HC bill most people argue that it is not right to force others to pay for someone else's abortion esp. when it goes against their convictions.There are plenty who are not religious and do not want to be forced to pay for other womens abortions.So to try and say all of these are horrible things and point at Christians is not totally accurate.

    Uh, Christians (especially the Catholics *eye roll*) are not the only religious group opposed to abortion. They may be the most vocal, but there are other religious groups that oppose it as well. Besides, many groups (non-religious) opposed that stupid healthcare bill just because it was a crock. The abortion piece was just a part of the many reasons to oppose that bill.
