  • "Thinking about it, it certainly is a better attitude than preaching that anybody who does not believe like they do should be killed !"

when i used to be a christian i actually whent to one chuch that said that the more people i hated and condemned just for being different than me the more favored or loved i would be in God's eyes. they also said these people that were different than me didnt deserve to live and should die. i'm wiccan now and i know my faith tells me not to try and convert people. i beleve that everyone has their own spiritual path and if someone has a different path that is not like thwe Wicca path i follow i still try respect that person and that person's path. i dont like when other people try to convert me so i dont try to convert others.

OP i dont know why the evangelists want to convert others i peronally have never met any evangelists. so i havnt had them try to convert me

  • You don't say what kind of evangelists! Everyone who is part of an organized religion or cult feels strongly that they are right and will try to convert any and everybody. Whether it's Christian evangelicals, Jehovah's Witnesses, or Mormons. Personally, I think more Christians should be as bold as JWs or Mormons.

  • Some of them subscribe to a belief that those who do not believe are doomed to a less beautiful future, or even doomed to a negative future. So they proclaim their beliefs out of a wish for the benefit of their hearers.
Some religions preach that it is the duty of their followers to convince and convert any un-believers. So their energy spent in doing this is a way of fulfilling their religious path.

Thinking about it, it certainly is a better attitude than preaching that anybody who does not believe like they do should be killed !

  • The bible says to preach the word to all nations.. we as Christians are called to evangelize but not all have the gift of evangelism.
They are following what God told them to do in the word. That is why.. God is the one that wants all to come to love Him as Lord and Savior, He wish that NONE would perish but leaves the choice up to the individual. Some evangelists are pushy, some are money hungry and others just want fame but there are legit evangelists that genuinely love the people and want to see them turn their hearts to Christ.
