Can I do anything for a yeast infection? Other than medication?

I have a terrible yeast infection and it's driving me nuts! I won't be able to go out and get any medication for it until Wednesday. Is there anything I can do at home for it? At least to ease up the itchiness?

  • There are OTC yeast medications...just look in the feminine hygeine section of your drugstore.

  • yogurt, do you have some handy?

  • Put plain yogurt on a tampon. Insert and leave in overnight. It will help balance the bacteria and help get rid of the infection. also when you do go out see if you can purchase probiotics. You may have to go to a health store. If they don't have to be refrigerated don't buy them. They will help regulate the good bacteria.

  • You have to make sure the yogurt said live cultures and bifidus(sp?) on it though

  • My doc said to put plain yogurt (none of the flavored stuff) on a tampon and insert it. Leave it in for a few hours. REpeat as necessary
