Asprin ??? I need to know!

Is it okay to take Asprin while breast feeding???????

  • yes, i'd rather you take tylenol, but aspirin won't hurt

  • i would guess not because your baby gets what you take and if your baby is exposed to chicken pox she may end up with ryes syndrome which is fatal.

  • Most doctors recommend acetaminophen rather than aspirin. Aspirin is known to cause many side effects. Check with your doctor first.

    This website lists everything that is safe and everything that isn't. Aspirin is on their unsafe list. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) would be your safest option.

    Since you can't take acetominophen I would call your doctor and see if there is anything else they would recommend.

  • Aspirin can be excreted in small amounts so you are better off checking with your doctor to see what dose is safe.:0)

  • Ibuprofen is fine. Aspirin is better avoided.
