how do you train an older dog

not to potty in the house? it's been a headache. i have a doggie door but they wont use it since we moved it to another area in the house that exits to another part of yard. weird dogs

  • You train it as you would train any other aged dog.
    If you relocated the doggie door you need to retrain them to use it in the new spot.
    Make sure they are outside in the mornings, evenings and after meals at least.
    Keep them tethered or keep your eye on them to prevent accidents before they happen.

  • You just have to be patient and keep taking them to the new door as often as you can, they will get it after a while, also hang bells that they can ring when they need to go out so that they don't go in the house.
