  • My kids were doing that a little after a year. I would just put a little bit of milk in to help it stick on the spoon.

  • truealaskan is right. Some parents won't let their kids eat cold cereal or soup til they're 3 because it makes such a mess. I let my kids have cold cereal as soon as they took to milk (13 months, give or take a couple weeks) - they were eating soup around 10 months.

  • The sooner you give it to them though, the sooner the learn how to not make a mess. My daughter is 22 mo. and has been eating cold cereal for at least 4-5 mo. now and doesn't make a mess anymore. (much of a mess anyway)

  • Why would you want to? There is little nutritional value and it is not filling.

  • My son started eating cereal with milk at 18 months. We just started with not as much milk and he understood it right away... he'll even pick up his bowl a drink his milk :) So cute.
