  • I was always told by my doc not to put cereal in a bottle, that its a chocking hazard.

  • I never put cereal in their bottles....I fed the cereal with a spoon from a little bowl. ANd gave them a bottle..without cereal. Most Moms here are extremely against feeding cereal amnd definitely not in a bottle. I think cereal is fine. But....you will get some negative replies,I bet. :-)

  • My doc told me it doesn't have an effect either way. Some babies just like a hefty meal before bedtime.

  • it probably will affect him sleeping all the way through the night since he's not as full as usual he'll get hungrier earlier but i agree you shouldnt put it in the bottle you should spoon feed him/her ( how old is he anyways? )

  • NEVER put cereal in a bottle. If you want baby to eat cereal do so off of a spoon. There are endless reasons why you should NEVER put cereal in a bottle.

BTW The thought that cereal before bed causes baby to sleep longer is an old wives tale with no truth whatsoever.

  • omg wtf is sooo wrong ab a lil cereal in a bottle.....if it is able to go through that tiny hole it is not exactly going to get clogged in their throats. hell a baby can get choked off of plain milk if it gets swallowed the wrong way, you just have to watch your baby! it probably wont if he ate well before bed. you should have tried a lil extra babyfood. i remember when my baby wouldnt eat jarred peas, i would mix it with his milk in a bottle and he would drink his veggies! hell adults drink smoothies for breakfast right lol! j/k

  • secontyme, just ask your doctor what they think about cereal in a bottle. If he's a decent doc, he'll say no, because it's a choking hazard. If they can't eat it, they can't drink it. If the can eat it off a spoon, fine. But if you have to put it in the bottle, why do you think that's okay if he chokes with the spoon?

  • He'll probably sleep better. My doctor was telling me about a new study that shows that cereal in the bottle disrupts night time sleep because babies aren't developmentally ready for solid food, and so it hurts their tummy. Also, there has never ever been a study that shows cereal before bed helps. None whatsoever.
